Hilltop Campsites
-
Site #1
This site is closest to the driveway. It has a graveled spot for vehicles (needs some leveling for vehicle/trailer camping), a firepit with wood-plank bench, a picnic table, and spot for one tent. Be aware that the Hilltop sites are right at the top of the paved driveway and close together. This makes them great for groups that know each other, but they are not super private for separate groups. Guests love that they are close to all the lodge facilities. 4WD is NOT necessary to access the Hilltop sites.

Site #2
Site #2 is set a little further in to the woods, just behind Site #1. This site has a larger gravel area for vehicles, a firepit, picnic table, and space for 2 tents. Be aware that the Hilltop sites are right at the top of the paved driveway and close together. This makes them great for groups that know each other, but they are not super private for separate groups. Guests love that they are close to all the lodge facilities. 4WD is NOT necessary to access the Hilltop sites.

Pond Area Campsites

#1 Dropping In
This is one of our larger sites. It is big enough for vehicle or trailer campers, or multiple tents. Hammocks can be used on trees toward front of site. It sits slightly above the pond off the main access road to the pond area, and is centrally located. Set back in the trees and rhododendrons, the canopy keeps it cooler most of the summer, but it gets sun in the cooler months once the leaves drop. Site surface is natural forest floor and mulch. Pond Loop trail runs right behind it for super easy access to our private trails. Picnic table and firepit on site.
Leveled surface is ~ 26x17

#2 Bunny Hop
This site is centrally located on the corner of TaxiDog Lane and TurtleBear Crescent. It is close to the porta-john, woodshed, and trailhead for the Pond Loop trails that go up to Reasonover Rd. Small trailer campers and vehicle campers can access it by backing in. Trees for hammocks can be found above the site and beside the driveway. At about 13 feet out the site starts sloping down toward road. Partial sun/shade. Firepit on site.
Leveled surface is ~ 13x11

Site surface is mulch/sparse grass. Firepit on site.

#7 Bike Escape
Nestled in among the rhodedendrone and laurals, close to the creek Bike Escape offers a peaceful camp experience. The small grassy nook is only big enough for a 2-3 person tent, but there is also a larger, less level space that can be used for larger tents. The gravel drive can accomodate vehicle or trailer camping (will need leveling). Site surface is mulch. Mostly shaded. Firepit on site.

#8 In The Zone
In The Zone is located right beside the pond with a 10x12' wooden deck to chill and enjoy the evening on. It is shady for most of the day making it the perfect spot for those hot summer months. The access drive is only about 7 feet across with trees on both sides. It is mostly used for tent camping, but if you have a smaller camp vehicle that will fit through the drive, you are welcome to pull it in. Picnic table and firepit on site. Surface is mulch and wood deck.
Site (without deck) is ~ 15x9

#9 N+1
This large site is just past the pond and to the left. It is easy access on the same level as the road so perfect for vehicle campers and trailers as well as tents. It is mostly sunny with some shady spots. Site surface is mulch. Firepit on site.

#10 Missing Link
Missing Link is one of our larger sites. It is located just past #9 and sits level with the road so easy pull in and out, making it great for larger vehicle campers and trailers, as well as multiple tents. This is currently the last site on the right side of TurtleBear Crescent. Together with #9 it makes a great space for groups camping together. Site is mostly sunny with some shady spots throughout the day. Picnic table and fire pit on site.
What Our Guests Are Saying…

Can't beat the location for biking and hiking nearby. Todd is a wonderful host who provided great recommendations for the area and trails to hit. The amenities are great and it feels very remote, yet only a short drive to anything that you would need for food or supplies. I'd definitely stay here again. (Hilltop Site #2)
